Thank you to everyone that came out for this month’s return to in-person meetups at Jamf’s Austin office. Special thanks to the Jamf Nation User Group program from the Community team for providing pizza 🍕 and drinks 🥤!

Even though we didn’t have a set agenda there was plenty to talk about! The conversation started with macOS Ventura and lead us through talking about many of the great tools and utilities out there that many of us use at our organizations. I’ve added the items we discussed to the slide deck below (and added a few others we didn’t).

Greetings! Please join us on October 26th for our next meetup hosted by Jamf. The Jamf Nation User Groups (JNUG) program lead by Jamf’s Community team will be sponsoring the event, providing food and drink in the lovely, recently-opened space in Austin.

We don’t have much of an agenda, but do plan on gathering starting at 5pm. Pizza should arrive shortly after 5pm. The office also has a sparkling water dispenser, a nice coffee machine, and vending that takes Apple Pay.

With the recent release of macOS Ventura (and iPadOS 16) the hot topic of the evening will likely be the new operating systems and the opportunities and challenges that came along for the rid. Be ready to share anectdotes, tips, tricks, and whatever other topics you’d like to discuss or share.

Venue Information

Jamf’s new corporate office in Austin sits off of Arboretum Blvd. as a part of the larger complex known as The Arboretum at Great Hills. The main entrance is located in the front of Arboretum Plaza II, facing the surface lot parking.

The surface parking lot and nearby street should have plenty of parking open this time of day. The nearby garage is also available; make sure to only park in spots that are not reserved for other businesses.
Enter through the glass door and walk past the elevators to enter the second door on the right. You should see the reception desk with a big Jamf logo on it.
One of the hosts will meet you at the door. Registration in the Envoy app on the reception iPad is required for entering the office space. Please sign in as a Guest and choose Emily Kausalik as the host.

Thanks to everyone that came out on November 20th for our last meetup at Trusource Labs! It was great to hear from David Kennedy (Jamf) and Joel Rennich (NoMAD), and doubly-great to have tacos and Topo Chico (thanks Jamf!). Keep reading for the resources and recorded video from the meetup.

Well I’ve promised swag for probably a year now, and we finally have some!

How to get yours

If you missed Emily at the JNUC, you can use the link below to PayPal some money to her to cover the cost of mailing it to you.

Click the donate button to donate funds to Austin Apple Admins for stickers! The recommended amount is $5 for two stickers to cover manufacture cost and postage. These stickers are not being sold for profit; after all, this is a non-profit organization. Donations for stickers will go towards web hosting costs and a fund to continue to make stickers in the future.

On the PayPal Me donation page you can send as little or as much as you’d like. In the optional text entry space before completing the transaction please enter where you’d like the stickers sent, and which stickers you’d like. If you’d like multiple, let me know how much of each. I currently have about 20 of each available. If you want to make sure enough stickers are available prior to sending funds, email emily[at]austinappleadmins.org.

Admittedly this is a very low-fi way to do this, but if merch is something people are really interested in I’ll look into setting up a shop in the future. Hey y’all! It was great to see so many of you out at WeWork this week for our event sponsored by Jamf and the Apple Business Team from The Domain’s Apple Store.

Many thanks to Allister Banks for being our guest presenter, and to Jamf for providing pizza! WeWork also had beer on tap that many of us enjoyed. What a great space!
